RG Mechatronics - We move the Future

Mechatronics expertise for the tasks of the future.

There is no contradiction between development and implementation skills and a young company: with its innovative and experienced team RG Mechatronics GmbH (RGM) can look back on outstanding technological successes.

The roots of RGM lie in a spin-off from the Institute for Robotics and Mechatronics at the Deutsche Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V. (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen. Incorporated into Siemens VDO in 2005, the core team formed an independent company, RG Mechatronics GmbH, after the takeover by Continental AG in 2008.

The main subject of research and development was originally the world’s first “brake-by-wire” solution for industrial and automotive applications. An initial prototype of this innovative braking technology demonstrated its full performance as early as 2002. In 2004, the project won the Hermes Award at the Hannover Trade Fair– an international technology prize for significant technical innovations.

RGM continues to develop highly-efficient linear drives such as the planetary roller-screw (Planeten-Wälz-Gewindespindel - PWG),
which provides an extremely compact and low friction drive with comparatively low complexity.

RGM now designs and develops mechatronic systems to meet the requirements
of well-known medium-sized and large companies in a wide range of industries.
